DEGREE IN INDUSTRIAL DESIGN?!?!
Excuse the irony, but I want to open a small parenthesis on the poor education ricevutoa university that gave me this cursed bachelor (perchè. .. I prefer to skip the second to devote myself to the best projects).
you list what in particular do not like the faculty of Design at Polimi:
??!?!
are a Designer ??...
Luckily when I joined the Polytechnic knew already use Flash MX, I started to "tweak" to the first web sites with Dreamweaver, then I started using Photoshop. Fortunately
I am also a mechanical engineer using Autocad and SolidWorks, and I knew ...
over the years I tried to learn a bit 'whatever it takes to be a "graphic" looking to complete the individual skills to the Adobe Creative Suite 4.
.... but not yet a Designer! I have not got to try to do just that!
ADVICE TO ALL graduates: not think the degree as a piece of paper you need to find a job ... but try to work or try to look at job ads in the sector that interests you even if you're not looking at this time.
You will need to understand what companies look really!
and if the universities do not have to teach it to you ... change it now !!!!!!!
- Congratulations! Now that you have a degree in industrial design at the "Politecnico di Milano" can be a designer!.
- Really? and what it means?
- means that you can feel a creative, an artist, you can pretend to invent anything without worrying innovation, the special features, utility, beauty ...
- Siiiii ah?
- Yes, because the faculty of Design at the Politecnico di Milano is a way of life. does not matter if after 3 years "Polimi" your favorite graphics application is "PAINT" (also because it is the only one who know how to use) and that the word "MAC" makes you think only McDonalds. The important thing is to believe! thought to be the Designer! or not?

you list what in particular do not like the faculty of Design at Polimi:
- nothing textbooks (all optional and not required to pass the exams)
- too many subjects not related to the choice of the option : as the power of design is of recent birth, remained in its role as some professors from the period where industrial design was a detachment of Architecture ... So I had to do Mathematics, Economics, History, Physics, ....
- too many assessments 'group' : lots of tests (among others, those relating to the design of most materials) performed by working groups composed of more students. The assessment is then in a group, no one is controlled individually by the teachers and consequently there are students who work double for those who do not work .... but unfortunately the "Laurea" is individual.
- no working method: whenever you are asked to perform a task, a test or a lab, you are alone with their own creativity to figure out how to deal with this new job ... every time we start again as if for the first time, as if it was the first day of university (even if it is the third) ... no one teaches you a method of making REAL DESIGNER .... Everything is a Brainstormig ....... but in the absence of the "brain" ... we need a method!
- no course of software: to make the designer must necessarily be of the charts, and graphs must be able to use the graphics software, in particular, the entire package Adobe Creative Suite. But ... apart from a hint of "freehand" (which has already been passed for years ...) and a mini-course "Think Design" (the cousin loser .... Solid Works) there has been taught nothing more. Too bad that whenever you are asked to submit their own project is necessary to create a 3D model and a graphical presentation ... (Most students are still using POWER POINT Think3 ..... .. and a shame considering the faculty).
- no stimulation or example: apart from some "workshop" (one week each year) there are never any courses that deserve the real attention and curiosity from the students! It is believed only to pass the exam without thinking about learning a trade .... job that no one is teaching.
- too much attention to form : ideas do not count! The important thing is the professors and pander to finish quickly the presentations and related projects ... is more important to print fotocopisteria in hundreds of color pages of crap, that providing an idea of \u200b\u200bthe Madonna with a pencil sketch on paper. Here there are neither genes nor inventors ... The important thing is to pass the Asami! for both you and the prof.
- hours that overlap : If by chance you have been rejected in a course, I have identify the following year overlap with one of the important new courses ... often happens that overlap even exams. So you find yourself choosing what you will never go to the death! (More math ... heheh).
- if you happen to Prof. right ... : the same courses, but with different sections and different teachers may be different mooooooooooolto! (But this happens everywhere, I think) and I
