A Soviet film of 1972 directed masterfully by director Andrei Tarkovsky. The film uses science fiction as an excuse (and of course, in a climate like that of Russia in 1972) to speak of man, but most of the inseparability of man inability to communicate with the planet and the rhythms of nature.
The poetry of this film is undeniable.
I really liked most of the remake (see chart) with Clooney (also if George is George always ..)
only drawback: the main actor Donatas Banionis looks dramatically Fantozzi first manner (I expect it to come out from one moment to another Pina from some corner of the galaxy).
